Singer Spotlight: Rick Ashcroft

This Sunday, you'll hear Rick Ashcroft sing a solo — Handel's "O Lord, whose mercies numberless" from the oratorio Saul — so perhaps an introduction is in order!

Rick is a multi-talented artist. He joined Christ Church's choir in 2010 with a wealth of experience singing all over the world. He has sung with the Heidelberg Opera in Germany, San Diego Opera, and the well-known American choral conductor Rene Clausen. As an actor, he has appeared in Peter Pan with Cathy Rigby and Oklahoma! with Rex Smith (not to mention in our own Christ Church Players productions!). He has directed, written, and choreographed for the theatre, and works as a visual artist as well in media as diverse as oil painting and stained glass.

And, if you've gotten to know him in the past couple years, you'll know he is as kind, selfless, and cheerful as they come!

We're looking forward to hearing you on Sunday, Rick!

O Lord, whose mercies numberless
O'er all Thy works prevail,
Though daily mankind Thy laws transgress,
Thy patience can not fail.

If yet our sins remain before Thee,
Let Thy love our lives control.
Now, Lord, within us repentance see,
And come to heal each wounded soul.
