Christmas at Christ Church

Well, it's almost here. For the choir, it's our biggest night of the year. Two very different services, each with a lot of music to sing. We know how big a part music can play in people's Christmas experiences, and we want to make those experiences at CCA as meaningful as possible!

5:00 pm Family Service
If you come to the Family Service, plan to arrive by 4:30 for the Carol Sing. It's a great way to settle down from the day's busy-ness and prepare for the service. The piano and organ share this service, with plenty of congregational singing at the Offertory and Communion. Our new Youth Choir will make their first appearance. The star of this service is really the pageant, told in the part of the service where the sermon would otherwise be.

8:00 pm Festival Eucharist
This is Christmas Eve with all the trimmings: candlelight processional, wind and string instruments joining with the choir -- even a bit of incense at the Communion. This service features the music of Handel's Messiah and favorite hymns from our church's Christmas tradition. Plan to arrive by 7:30 for the Carol Sing!
