Our choir takes the summer off, but with the new summer choir coming (more on that below), we'll be meeting again soon enough. Still, this week we are celebrating our last services of the season.
Tonight, before our final rehearsal, we'll be singing some favorites at a local retirement home. And this Sunday, we will highlight both of this year's featured composers: Handel's "Their sound is gone out" from Messiah paired with Jean Berger's "Speak to one another". The pieces share both a similar message as well as a similar musical method of layering short melodies among all the parts. The contrast should be a beautiful part of Trinity Sunday.
Looking ahead, we are starting something new this summer: Summer Choir. It is an opportunity to sing for long-time choir members -- or anyone new -- with a minimal commitment. We will meet at 8:00 to sing for the 9:00 Sunday morning service. If you've been on the fence about joining the choir, this is a perfect opportunity to give it a try. Join us on
We'll look forward to seeing you!
