A little musical humor...

I'm a day late to "Back to the Future" Day, but this was too good to pass up:





For those of you familiar with the movie, but scratching your heads about barlines, they are notational symbols that are common in music today, but were not yet in practice during the Renaissance.

This Sunday, when we celebrate the annual Commissioning of the Parish Choir, we will be singing a piece by the Renaissance composer Christopher Tye. A work that -- you guessed it -- was written before the use of barlines.
