Family Concert: Tetra and the "Musical Melting Pot"

For the second installment in our Paradise Valley Concert Series, we are elated to host the Tetra String Quartet and their program geared towards children and families: The Musical Melting Pot.

This concert will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 13. Admission is free, and donations upport ICM Food and Clothing Bank. Christ Church of the Ascension is located at 4015 E. Lincoln Drive in Paradise Valley.

The concert comes right after our Second Saturday Family Service (5:00 p.m. in Ascension Chapel), so families can make a night of it if they wish and go directly from the family service to the concert hall.

The Musical Melting Pot is an interactive program that shows how one bit of music (a melody, perhaps) is transformed in different musical traditions around the world. Tetra is a popular group that regularly gives concerts around town; their shows are often education-oriented, and always engaging and energetic.

The Tetra String Quartet’s mission is to connect people with chamber music, using relevance and versatility to captivate audiences. They have toured the country and the world as clinicians and performers. Tetra has appeared in schools, bars, museums and concert halls throughout Arizona performing standard classical repertoire, new music, rock, pop, jazz and fiddling. Their concerts also feature collaborations with artists, dancers, animators and composers. They are on faculty at Arizona State University and Artists in Residence at the Musical Instrument Museum.
